Cookies and local storage on ROAMVUE.com.

Effective 2026-06-01

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores so a site can remember a small piece of state. Here is the entire list we set, and why.

The short version

ROAMVUE does not use advertising cookies. We use one functional cookie, a small piece of localStorage, and a cookieless analytics tool. We never sell browsing data.

1. Functional cookie

Name: next-auth.session-token
Purpose: Keeps you signed in if you create an ROAMVUE account. Required for the account and wishlist features to work.
Lifespan: Session (cleared when you close the browser) or 30 days if you tick "Remember me" on sign-in.
Provider: First-party (ROAMVUE).
Lawful basis: Strictly necessary — the authentication feature does not work without it.

2. localStorage

We use localStorage (not cookies) for two preferences:

  • roamvue-newsletter-subscribed — remembers that you already subscribed so we do not show the form twice. Cleared automatically when you unsubscribe.
  • roamvue-preferences — your selected locale (English only in V1) and last-viewed product slug for "Continue reading" affordances. Cleared when you clear browser data.

3. Analytics (cookieless)

We use Plausible Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first analytics tool. Plausible collects only: the URL you visited, the country you visited from, the device family (desktop vs mobile, browser family), and the referring page. No cross-site tracking, no persistent identifiers, no personal data.

Plausible' data policy: plausible.io/data-policy.

4. Embedded third-party content

YouTube and Vimeo embeds set their own cookies when you play an embedded video. We do not embed videos by default; only on the Tutorials page where they are clearly labelled.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can view, block, or delete cookies any time from your browser settings. Links for the most common browsers:

  • Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data
  • Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data
  • Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/cookies

If you block the functional cookie, the optional account and wishlist features will not work — but you can still browse the site, subscribe to the newsletter, and read the entire catalog.

6. Changes

We will update this page when we add or remove any tracking technology. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest version.
